~Rescued Dog Designs was created from my love of saving, artistically refinishing and re-purposing antique and otherwise, unwanted furniture. Giving it new life.
I recently started The Glass Menagerie in addition to refinishing furniture. A beautiful collection of hanging antique and vintage glassware adorned with beads and charms. There are a variety of uses for these unique pieces... beautiful bird feeder, elegant bird bath, bright candle holder, pretty plant holder or even a dazzling dessert / pastry tray.
I use my creativity as a means to also donate to animal shelters and groups in an effort to help homeless animals find their forever home. This is a hobby for two passions that I feel deeply about and enjoy doing in my spare time.
Sadie, my rescue dog, and Floki (new addition in 2021) also a rescue, are the mascots for Rescued Dog Designs. Sadie was rescued from a Sheriff's pound in Louisiana with the help of a great friend. I drove down from West Virginia to bring her back home in 2015. Floki is a rescue from Kentucky…left at a shelter with his two brothers when the breeder couldn’t sell them and pulled by a rescue. Just like their wonderful selves, the furniture and glassware that I refurbish is given a second chance. A new home.
Sadie and Floki’s stamped "Paw of Approval" will be somewhere on each furniture piece.
Rescued Dog Designs donates a portion of all proceeds (as well as auction donations) to local rescues in the Charles Town, WV area, such as The Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County and The Cats Voice, in an effort to help homeless pets in need.

I believe the foundation of any furniture piece must start new with proper prep (sanding), priming and using only the most durable materials. There are no short cuts here.
I will also work with antique pieces so called character marks (aka: flaws) as l as the piece is strong and sturdy. I feel it is an important part of it's history just as rescued animals are given a second chance, so are these old pieces....renewed.
Rescued Dog Designs is centrally located in beautiful Charles Town, WV which is a quick drive from Frederick, MD, Martinsburg, WV, Leesburg, VA and Winchester, VA.
